We should never live as if we have arrived. (Not that there should be no time for pit stops or refueling) But when we are at the top of whatever plateau or outcrop we think we want to stay at- that is when we start the down slide. (That is why so many people never really start. They stay in the valley and work well within their capabilities to give a near flawless performance. No one is allowed to fault them, because they are not doing anything “wrong” or making any mistakes. )
Whatever level you are at, it should be a struggle to stay there. It is more difficult to remain at the top and beat off the contenders, than it was to get to the top.
When we think we have it all together, take heed.
