foresight

The unappealing behaviour I expected from someone actually happens, yet still I am disappointed and irked by the encounter. Is this a sign of my hope in mankind or a sign of my stupidity?

  1. “Put no trust in a neighbor; have no confidence in a friend; guard the doors of your mouth from her who lies in your arms; for the son treats the father with contempt, the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house. But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me. Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.”
    Micah 7:5-8

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13

All people stink sometimes, but we have to hope/show mercy anyway. 🙂

  2. I get disappointed with myself that I can’t feel good after the encounter. I have a difficult time brushing it off, it always seems to leave a stain on my day.
